Newton Breathable Original Crib Mattress

In a third-party CPSC accredited laboratory, tests showed that a baby gets 97% more air while breathing through a Newton Crib Mattress than on a conventional waterproof crib mattress.

This mattress is a standard crib mattress with dimensions of 52" x 28" x 5.5" and weighs 14 pounds.

The Newton Baby Crib Mattress will fit any standard sized crib. This includes the Wave, Cloud, Candy Cloud, Snow and Mountain full cribs as well as their toddler bed conversions!

While the Original Crib Mattress is not waterproof, it is water-resistant. Parents report that most messes will not go through to the core, allowing you to easily switch the cover during a late-night change to get your baby back to sleep. The cover is completely washable and interchangeable with the Newton Original Extra Covers. When your little one grows into a toddler and messes get bigger, you can add the Newton crib mattress pad (available on their website) for waterproof, breathable protection! Newton does not recommend using a traditional mattress protector over their mattresses as this would hinder the breathability of the mattress (most traditional waterproof covers do reduce breathability).

The cover zips off and goes right in the washing machine. Be sure to leave the cover zipped for best results. Wash on cold with a mild detergent. Tumble dry on low heat. Dry thoroughly. DO NOT hang dry.
Wash the outer cover as often as you like. Washing the outer cover before first use is optional.

Clean encasement only if soiled. Unzip and remove from core. Zip fully closed prior to wash + dry. Machine wash in cold water with detergent and wash together with outer cover for a balanced load but without any other laundry.
Dry immediately in dryer on tumble dry low heat setting, allowing to dry thoroughly. DO NOT leave damp from wash; DO NOT hang dry.

For the really big mess or just for seasonal cleaning, the core can be washed whenever needed. Wash in the shower with soap & cool water or rinse outside with a hose. Shake excess water out of core and stand-up to dry. Place in well ventilated area for faster drying. Avoid drying in direct sunlight and do not use heating elements to speed the drying process.
