Nice design and relatively easy assembly. Opted for this because of the solid wood construction and some details that made it more interesting than the minimalist house beds that just have the frame. The optional trundle was also a key selling point for us.

Even with the thicker lumber, there’s a lot of give in the top part of the bed from front to back. Maybe all of these house-style beds are like this but wonder how it’ll hold up with an adventurous toddler.

There are some minor quality control details that were disappointing.

Most of the bolts are recessed but a couple are more flush or even proud to the surface. Minor detail but would’ve preferred if they sat a few threads deeper.

One of the pre-installed wood screws in the bottom frame, where the slats rest, crossed into the hole where a bolt was to be installed. I had to drill a new pilot hole a half inch over and reinstall the screw.

The white window trim came pre-installed. It’s several pieces and they are not 100% flush or lined up. Not that noticeable and our toddler obviously won’t mind but overall just a bit disappointing. It seems like it’s attached with dowels and glue. I could probably fix it but didn’t want to risk somehow making it worse.

Lastly, not a QC issue, but we didn’t realize until after ordering the trundle that we needed a “Twin Short” mattress which basically only exists on this site. We ended up going with a trundle foam mattress from a reputable bed-in-a-box brand and even though it was 2”…
