    We got our son his first big boy bed with the trundle bed and it is perfect. It is very well made. Looks exactly like the pictures.

    Twin Short Mattress

    We searched everywhere for a “twin short” mattress and even looked at bespoke options. We didn’t want to purchase a specialized mattress for something that will only receive occasional use.

    We ended up going with a trundle foam mattress from a reputable bed-in-a-box retailer even though it was the standard twin length. It squished into the frame just fine and works perfectly for our needs. A regular innerspring twin would not have fit but the foam gives some flexibility.

    Hard to find mattress

    Trundle rolls smoothly and would recommend to help transition toddler to sleep independently and/or guest bed. Note that the recommended mattress is trundle short which is really hard to find.
