Inside Bruna Tenório's Playful Nursery

Model and jewelry designer Bruna Tenório is a few months into life with two boys: Gael, the proud big brother, and baby Noah. We talked to her about designing a warm, timeless nursery, the Brooklyn rituals that make her house feel like home, and what she hopes to pass down from her Brazilian roots.

This nursery has the same effortless quality Bruna Tenório brings to everything she does. Nothing too precious, just warm and well considered. She's now a mom of two boys, Gael and Noah, and settling into a new rhythm at home in Brooklyn. So naturally, we had a few questions for her.

Noah is here! What's been the biggest shift going from one kids to two?

I think the biggest shift is learning how to divide my attention while still making each of them feel like they have their own special time with me… It's definitely busier, but also really sweet seeing our family find this new rhythm together!

Gael brought so much energy to the shoot day. What's he like as a big brother so far?

He is very excited and very proud to be the big brother. He always wants to know what Noah is doing and be part of his world. He's been incredibly loving with him.

You've spent so long surrounded by some of the biggest names in fashion. Did any of that shape your eye when it came to designing Noah's space?

I think working in fashion for so many years has made me very aware of color, proportion, texture, and all the little details that make something feel special. At home, I like things to feel much more relaxed. I wanted the boys' bedroom to be beautiful, but also warm, and playful.

Your jewelry has such a chic, effortless energy to it. Did that same instinct carry over into how you decorated the space?

I think so! I'm usually drawn to things that feel simple at first but have an interesting detail when you look closer. I don't like anything to feel too perfect or overdone. I wanted the room to have that same feeling.

Was there one piece in the nursery that everything else came together around?

The Wave Crib was really the starting point. Once we chose that, the rest of the room came together around it. I loved the idea of keeping the larger pieces timeless and then bringing in personality through the rug, curtains, art, and smaller details.

What's the most-used corner of the nursery these days?

Definitely the Drift Glider Recliner next to the crib. I spend so much time there feeding Noah, holding him, or just sitting with him when the house is quiet. It has become such a cozy little corner for us.

Between modeling and the kids, how do you make room for the creative work you love?

Motherhood has changed the way I work creatively. I have less uninterrupted time now, so when I do have it, I'm much more intentional. I try to follow ideas when they come and not wait for the perfect moment.

Your Brazilian roots are such a big part of who you are. Is there anything you're already excited to pass down to the boys?

The language, the food, the music, being close to family, but also that Brazilian warmth and sense of joy. I really want them to feel connected to that side of who they are, even though they're growing up in New York.
