Designing a Nursery as a Second Time Mom with Clara Macciochi
For her second baby’s nursery, Clara Macciochi of @claraandherself brought a thoughtful eye and a deeper sense of what works in those early days. The result is a beautifully serene space–filled with soft colors, subtle textures, and meaningful details that make it feel just right.

Whimsical, nostalgic, and grounded.
I wanted the room to feel earthy and yet magical, so I figured the best way to do that is by incorporating a fairy garden theme! I love creating fantasy for my girls and connecting them to the natural world at the same time.

I felt more confident and secure in what I would need, and it also felt a lot more emotional. Instead of imagining what making memories and watching my baby grow in their nursery would feel like, I’ve already experienced it. I know how many memories a nursery holds and it’s a very sacred space to me.

I loved setting up the Cove Montessori Bookshelf. It felt like the final piece and i got to go shopping for some meaningful books to place in there. I could imagine reading to her and her growing enough to start picking out books the way my first daughter now does.

I think it’s always best to trust your instincts! They’ve gotten you this far—and I can only imagine the confidence the second time around makes for an even better experience.

Getting out of the house and spending time outdoors everyday is my mom must-have! Being outside makes June and I both so happy and to be honest, it makes parenting so much easier too. We love going to the park, nature preserve, and beach constantly!
